Production Team

This journey and love of wine started several years ago in Italy where my father was born. What I have learned most is that I will only ever know a fraction about this passion of mine, Mainly because it always changes, much like my job in the news business that pays for the travels and tasty wines. The second most important thing I learned, good wine is whatever you enjoy drinking, not what someone tells you is fine,  and it always tastes better when shared,

  1. I’m a late starter and have always wanted to learn more about wine than just drinking it. I was wondering if you could suggest an Okanogan wine either red or white. I want to stay local and support our wine industry here in the Thompson/Okanogan region. I don’t mind the Copper Moon Shiraz or their white Moonlight Harvest Chardonnay.

    1. We have limited access to BC wines in Ontario, but some of my favourites when visiting – Osoyoos area produces superb wines. NK’MIP is the first aboriginal winery in Canada and produces great wines. Osoyoos Larose is terrific and so is Burrowing Owl – I have tried the reds. When it comes to White – Mission Hill Chardonnay is delicious and if you are lookinmg for a bit of a splurge JOIE has some fantastic wines. Hope this helps.

  2. Thank you so much for the information. I am going to try the wines you have suggested. I do like the Mission Hill Chardonnay and looking to try JOIE. Thank you again, you have been so helpful ;o)

    1. You are most welcom Hennie. We will be posting wine picks every week so I hope you enjoy them. That’s the great thing about wine, there’s always something new at the LCBO so let the adventure begin.

  3. I would love to see a review of really good Israeli wines. I was watching a program on wines, and apparently back in the day ancient Israeli wines were really good, but not until recently were the vineyards creating good crops. I love Argentinian wine, and recently discovered some South African favorites after reading up on The Chocolate Block, but I would love to see more about Israeli wines since evidently they’re recently up and coming, but just not well-known yet. I looked for some at a local Atlanta location and they didn’t have any. Bummer, ’cause I would love to try some.

    1. Hi Mandy, I was given a bottle of Israeli wine at a Christmas party and had no idea what to expect. It was really good. Will check out what the selection is around here and report back.
